The wealthiest man in Mondstat, owner of the Dawn Winery and tycoon of the city’s wine industry. Diluc himself cares little for alcohol but has inherited the winery from his father and runs the Dawn Winery with great respect for his legacy.Diluc is hot-headed and often has an air of bitterness around him. He is often impatient and aloof, leaving him to have a sour reputation among some of Mondstat’s people.His appearance is striking, his bright red hair and eyes complimented with an elaborate black and gold coat.
At one point Diluc had been an idealistic young man, but in the present day he lacks faith in the Knights of Favonius to fully protect the city he loves so dearly, opting to do it himself in the shadows.After his father’s death he spent three years recklessly seeking out the truth and relentlessly hunting down the Fatui, tearing apart their stronghold for answers. In the end a near-death experience reminded him of the value of his own life, and that he cannot protect others if he is dead.Today, his faith lies in himself and his new comrades in the underground information network, making use of his prowess as both a warrior and aristocrat to protect Mondstat.In regards to Diluc’s relationship with Kaeya: I’m using the CN interpretation of sworn brothers which isn’t a familial relationship. Although before the tragedy with his father he was close to Kaeya in a manner one might expect of brothers they did not share a familial relationship despite Kaeya being treated like a son by Crepus.His current feelings towards Kaeya are complex -- he knows how capable of deceit Kaeya is but still clearly trusts him enough to not out him to the rest of Mondstat. He’s not ready to forgive Kaeya yet and cares little for his smug attitude but he still holds an implicit level of trust and care for his former friend despite not being ready to move on yet.I do ship / will be shipping Kaeluc on this blog (with Cas/Riverside-Dreams) in this context and maintain ‘close like brothers’ does not necessarily mean a familial relationship, simply a level of implicit trust and closeness between two people.I prefer this interpretation because it matches their history and relationship further - sworn brotherhood is closer than friendship but not truly kinship, it is an oath of loyalty between two people that was shattered when Kaeya revealed the truth to Diluc. This is the reason Diluc no longer views Kaeya as a ‘brother’, as that oath has been broken in his eyes.

TW : tortureNear the end of his rampage against the Fatui, when confronted by the harbingers he isn’t saved from death by a certain stranger but instead his delusion backfires and he’s thrown unconscious. He later awakes in their custody. Exhausted both emotionally and physically, he eventually is 'convinced' to join their ranks.His faith in Mondstat and its people are all but shattered as he feels not just the Knights but the city itself has turned its back on his family.

When they saw the world was steeped in conflict they chose to leave and head to the next one but were separated by an unknown goddess.Stripped of his powers and lost in this new world, he luckily encounters a strange creature known as Paimon and befriends her.Although he doesn’t want to get too swept up in the matters of Teyvat it seems he is unable to avoid doing so, and has even come to befriend many of the world’s people.Aether is somewhat sensitive about his short stature and being often mistaken for a child, leading him to sometimes pout and refute these statements.He is also a rather mischievous person with a hearty sense of humor.His main goal remains meeting with the seven archons and hopefully the main god in order to find his sister, the only hint he possesses being a brief reflection in the eyes of Dvalin.How long have they been separated and how long did he sleep trapped in those nightmares that the world had changed so drastically?There are many questions he hopes to answer in his travels.

Scaramouche is an unscrupulous, fierce man with a temper shorter than his height.As one of the eleven Fatui Harbingers he has sworn an unwavering loyalty to the Tsaritsa. His curiosity and thirst for knowledge often lands him in difficult situations, however his wit and strength are more than enough to claw his way out of whatever he gets himself into.He is merciless when it comes to achieving his goals, and although his cheerful facade can be quite endearing he is incredibly strict and cold with his underlings.Wielding an Electro vision and a (currently unknown) delusion, the ill-tempered Scaramouche is quick to sink his claws into anything in his path, be it his research or his enemies.This difficult personality and inability to shut up about his interests makes him the most disliked of his Harbinger companions.
